Trinity Jewelry Crafts was started in April 1984 by three individuals born in Mathare Valley, one of the oldest and largest slums in Nairobi, Kenya. The aim was to create a decent and more reliable way of earning a living for both them and their neighbors.
Trinity artisans are employed and trained on the job. They are paid a monthly wage, as well as other benefits which include annual leave, additional pay for overtime hours worked, and emergency and development loans.
Trinity Jewelry Crafts focuses on the use of cultural influences and raw materials to produce distinctive jewelry based on local traditions.
